Today, many countries are considering: legalization of medical marijuana and hemp products. In the United States, marijuana is still illegal and controlled by the Drug Enforcement Administration. But it has been accepted by states, and even the federal government, that some form of hemp is safe and beneficial for those who suffer from chronic pain and other medical ailments. Two-thirds of Americans now use either prescription painkillers or illegal street drugs, to alleviate their symptoms.

Hemp, an effective and cheap source of fiber, can be grown in the backyard of most any homeowner:

  • In Canada, marijuana for medical purposes is legal. But in spite of this, a large section of the population is still against the use of marijuana.
  • Marijuana arrests are up in Colorado and California, and Canadians are afraid of how legal marijuana might be abused.
  • In Canada, the Marijuana Registry keeps records on file about people who have been arrested or convicted for trafficking, production, or possession of marijuana.
  • Even though hemp is not yet widely used, it appears that hemp’s future could be brighter than imagined.

The Canadian Government is watching closely: the hemp industry and what it brings to the country. In addition to marijuana being illegal, it is also known to cause all sorts of problems such as impaired driving and teenage accidents. Experts believe that hemp could solve many of these problems over the next few years, and the Canadian Government is studying the possibility of hemp growing on private farms, rather than in public areas.

In a recent article: in the Canadian Business News, a government official stated that the hemp market will soon surpass the marijuana one within a few years. “There’s just too much potential in Canada for hemp,” he said. The government official went on to say that in ten years, there will be more hemp products on store shelves than there are pot plants in the country. This is obviously good news for the budding hemp industry in Canada. Now the next step is to see if hemp can be used in other countries such as the United States.

In other words, hemp is really big in the United States: But Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and a number of European countries have become quite interested in hemp as well. If hemp can be grown successfully on a large scale, there may soon be a huge demand for it around the world. You should definitely check out CBD News every week for updated information on this exciting new industry. Please consider all this.
